America’s Group Announces Key Leadership Changes at Virginia Beach Location

Carmel, IN – February 13, 2024 – America’s Auto Auction, a leading provider of used-vehicle auction services, announces the promotion of key individuals at its Virginia Beach location. Derek Simmerman and Janice Hicks have ascended to the positions of General Manager and Assistant General Manager. Recognized for their dedication and significant contributions, both bring a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of the automobile auction industry to their new roles.

Drawing from a robust background within the automotive realm, Derek Simmerman steps into the role of General Manager. His journey in the automotive sector began at Greensboro Auto Auction where he dedicated seven and a half years to learning the industry. Simmerman found his true passion for the car business while working as an assistant marketing manager and later as a fleet department manager. In October 2021, he joined America’s Auto Auction Virginia Beach as the assistant general manager where he made impactful contributions to the organization.

Janice Hicks, the newly appointed Assistant General Manager, has been an integral part of the company’s journey. With unwavering dedication and a strong work ethic, she navigated various roles within the organization, including lot attendant, lane coordinator, redemption manager, fleet coordinator, office clerk, transportation manager, and sales manager. Hicks attributes her success to the invaluable experiences and opportunities she’s encountered along the way, all of which have positioned her for this role.

Hicks expressed her gratitude by saying, “I am immensely thankful for the journey that has molded me into who I am today and for the chance to contribute further in this capacity.”
